Media Street leverages Yelp’s API to integrate reviews
Media Street, a start up online publishing company, has announced it will be integrating reviews from Yelp, a website that connects people with local businesses. Yelp’s local business reviews will be featured across Media Street’s network of local London websites including its case study and flagship site for King’s Road.
The latest software release of Media Street (version 0.6) uses Yelp’s application programming interface (API) to show the latest reviews on its local sites. Example business pages with Yelp reviews include the Big Easy and Ad Hoc, two local businesses on the King’s Road.
Jonathan Lloyd, co-founder and publisher, Media Street, comments: “We’re excited about the integration of Yelp reviews because we are starting to offer readers useful information on businesses. Using our Media Street sites, readers can quickly see what people are saying about a particular business and whether it’s worth a visit – a bit like becoming the Expedia for local businesses.”
“We came across the Media Street team in 2010 and quickly realised that the Yelp API would be a natural fit on their local King’s Road website and other west London properties,” said Laura Nestler, London Community Director.
